GOD DOES EXIST, AND HE'S A DODGER FAN..

Frustration. Excitement. Torture. Hope. Despair. Jubilation. Disappointment. Suspense. Misery. Insanity. Horror. Bliss. What a night.. The evening began looking like it would be a long one, and it was. Brad Penny, who needed to come up with a clutch performance, immediately gave up 4 runs to the hated friars, and just like that my hopes where crushed. But, my boys in blue managed to make a game out of by tying the game at 4. Then padres jumped ahead in the 8th, and by the ninth inning the game was 9-5. The padres needed just 3 outs to mentally knock the Dodgers out of the Playoff race. Any other night, it would have been over.. But not this September night, there was something in the air, and it was not the thick Los Angeles fogg. Up first in the 9th, Mr. porno stash himself Jeff Kent led off with a home run, and at this point i'm pissed because they are just pro-longing the inevitable, then Mike Marshall Jr. ( J.d. Drew) comes up to the plate, and Marshall Jr. hits a 461' home run into the right field stands, at this point i'm happy but, in the back of my mind I know what's going to happen... and it does, Bruce Bochy walks to the mound, takes the ball from John Adkins, and calls in Trevor Hoffman. Hoffman who had not blown a game against the dodgers since 2001, and is only a few saves away from passing Lee Smith on the all-time list. So, I tell myself that at least the Dodgers are still in first place in the wild card, but just as I finish the thought, Russell Martin drove a first pitch fastball over the left field pavilion, and its 3 home runs in-a-row.. INCREDIBLE! the crowd was electric, the place was nuts. Meanwhile Marlon Anderson stepped into the plate, and again drove a first pitch fastball into right field pavillion, and just like that history was made, and the game was tied. I cant explain the my joy as Marlon rounded the bases, and crossed home plate.. but then comes to top of the 10th, and all of a sudden we find ourselves down again.. if we cant come back, this loss will demoralize our team... i could not believe that we where about to lose this game. The Dodgers where now down to their final opportunity to win the game. Kenny Lofton was up first, and managed a lead off walk, bringing Nomar Garciaparra to the plate, Garciaparra who struck out in the 8th inning with 2 runners in scoring position now had the chance to be the hero.. Nomar worked the count in his favor 3-1, and on the ensuing pitch, Nomar launched Rudy Seanez's fastball to deep left field into the pavillion, the miracle comeback was complete. The crowd went crazy, the stadium was filled with joy, I had just witnessed the greatest comeback in dodger history!... God does exist, and hes a dodger fan...

BELIEVE IN BLUE!
